Where Maine Coons are raised simply because of our LOVE for the breed. I Love their size as they are larger than typical breeds. I LOVE their appearance; the ear tips, tufts of hair from inside their ears, hair between their toes, almond shaped eyes, Loooonnng tails, and those BROAD noses...Oh, and the sounds they make, their "chirrup" makes me smile Every time.... and they know it! They have a completely different disposition for a cat, they really are amazing! They follow you from room to room, they talk to you, they're simply great companions - yet they're not clingy.
All of our cats are raised literally underfoot...Kittens are born in my bedroom where they will stay with mom until they are ready to venture out, usually around 4 1/2 to 5 weeks of age, depending on the litter. We, Ginny and Wendy, began raising Maine Coon Cats in June 2007. I, Wendy, had adopted a Maine Coon from my local shelter, that was taken from me after 8 years of loving him. I fell head over heels in love with the breed so when I decided to look for a "replacement" we went a little overboard. We are small breeders but we can guarantee our kittens are hand raised and socialized, smothered to be exact, if this is possible. We believe in raising our babies in a manner that is best for them as we have learned from our experience. They are used to dogs, and yes, a raccoon. We are here 95% of the time to love and play with our animals. This is truly my passion!
All of our cats are CFA registered, vaccinated and wormed, and tested Feline Leukemia negative. All of our breeding cats are N/N for HCM, SMA, and PK Deficiency. I do not believe in spaying or neutering before 6 months of age, your kitten will not be altered upon purchase, this is your responsibility. Your CFA papers are issued upon full payment, the PIN number which allows you to breed your Maine Coon is simply not included. I do NOT sell kittens with breeding rights. Our kittens are all sold with a health guarantee against genetic or hereditary anomalies. ( If I have not had it in my cats, I will not replace your kitten.)
The Maine Coon is the original Native American longhaired cat and was recognized as a specific breed in Maine where they were held in high regard for their mousing talents. Through nature's own breeding program this breed has developed into a sturdy cat ideally suited to the harsh winters and various seasons of the region. The Maine Coon is well known for its loving nature, kindly disposition, and great intelligence. Maines are especially good with dogs and children and have always been a popular and sought after companion.
Lovingly called "Dog-Cats" or Dogs in Cat's bodies.
